We were delighted to be invited to Northern Ireland in February to participate in the Western Trust's Safeguarding in a Global Context conference.

"As Northern Ireland becomes increasingly diverse in culture, we need to enhance our knowledge and understanding of how to identify issues of safeguarding and how to respond with cultural competence."

Wise words indeed from Kieran Downey—Director of Women and Children, WHSCT whose vision the conference was.

Engage ME delivered workshops on Forced Marriage, Honour based Violence, FGM, Ritual Abuse, Radicalisation, CSE and Human Trafficking. Nazir Afzal O.B.E. made an impactful keynote speech sharing his impressive experience and we were priviledged to get the opportunity to meet with and hear Dr Samina Dornan speak. She said it best when she said " the journey is far from over". It was also great to meet with Kamini Rao and hear about her organisation's experiences and growth.

A huge thanks go to Maria Emilsson from the WHSCT Learning & Development Team without whom the event wouldn't have been the success that it was and to all the participants and speakers for your 'professional curiosity' and kind hospitality. We can't wait to come back
